Big Believing

Hey everyone today I want to talk to you guys about when your recording music are you believing. So when you record a song let say your recording guitar do you think about what your playing or do you just sit back relax and just play. Because sometime when you just sit back relax and just play and fell the music and the grove of the beat of the song that's believing, sometime it's better to believing because then you won't be so like thinking hard like where do I go next so just remember when your recording believing is a great trick just believe what you want the song to sound like fell it in your heart if you have a love and a passion for music then when you believe it will come to you

Rendering Down Your Midi Drums Tracks

Hey everyone today I want to talk about using midi drum's in your Daw, midi drums can be great to use for those people who don't know how to play drums or just like programing them. One of the new cool features that I use in my Daw in called rendering down midi files witch means after you record a midi track you turn it into a audio track so you can start working with that track, and what do I mean by working with it I mean using EQ using compression using all those plugins on the tracks. And one of the great thing's about my Daw I use Cubase pro 8 so one of the great things about it is you can do that render down your midi files. Its a great way to put all your drums on there own tracks and for those who don't know how to play drums or don't know how to mic a drum kit this would be the way to go.

Inside of cubase pro 8 there a VST instrument called grove agent and what it is its a drum VST instrument where you can make all your beats place them into your project and then render then down and then start using plugins on them

Rending down your midi tracks is also good for people who don't know how to play a instrument and they just program there stuff
Its something every musicians would like to use because it makes making music a whole lot easy to do Im not trying to hate on working in audio I love working in audio I work in audio all the time. What I'm just saying is when your in that part of your song and you want this piano part really bad or you want this drum beat really bad and you just cant play the beat live then wipe out your midi keyboard lay down the beat render it down and there you go you have the beat in your song for a fast way to make music

Again this is Ryan if you have any other questions audio recording mixing and audio please shoot me a email and all get back to you as soon as I can

Muting Instruments

Hey guys at some point on the blog I talked about dropping out the bottom end the bass guitar but right now I want to talk about dropping out the guitars in your song to open up your mix and make your mixing a whole lot Easyer. So let's say your coming out of a chorus and into a verse and you have 2 guitar tracks on that verse if you mute those 2 guitar tracks hafe I'm not talking about the whole thing just hafe way, it will really open up your mix and you can be left with bass piano drum and vocals trust me your mix will be more open and you it will be Easyer to mix because guitar rack up so much room in our mix I'm not trying to hate on guitar I love guitar if I could I would have a 100 guitar tracks in my mix but I would not do that because then I would not want to mix it but just dropping a instrument out can really make a differents in your mix and make Easyer.

The Gear I Use In My Studio

The one peace of gear I want to talk about first that I use in my recording studio is my computer I use a, Windows 8 hp operating system I'm very happy with it a lot of people say you need to use a Mac for a recording studio know that's not true you can use any computer as long as you have a good hard drive and it cleaned and it's fast. That audio interface I use is a focusrite 2i2 and I will be updating to the focuserite 18i20 soon but right now I'm using the 2i2 it is sub powered and it has 2 inputs with phantom power and it sounds great I'm a huge fan of focuserite products. Some of the microphones I use are a GXL 2200 condenser microphone and I use a focuserite CM25 condenser microphone also and I use a USB M audio condenser microphone. For my drum set I use a electric drum set witch is a Ddrum Dd 1 drum set I also have 5 guitars and one bass guitar I'm not going to get into the names of those cause I have 6 of them the DAW I use is pro tools 11 and I also have the upgrade version

Updating Your Computer

Hey guys today I'm going to talk about something new and it's something that you all should be doing with your computer that you use for your recording studio.
I'm going to tell you 2 of the most importing things you can do for a home studio computer to keep it nice and safe number one is keep it updated check for updates every week and if you have a new update make sure you update it because if you don't you will run into problems down the road. Number 2 clean your computer hear what you do for that every 2 weeks go through your computer see what you have if you see something you don't need get rid of it but make sure you read about it first before you delete it. These things can make your studio and work faster witch means you can get your music out and for people to hear faster

Do these steps they will help

Off Line Bouncing

Hey everyone today I want to talk to you guys about off line bouncing, so let's say you have a kick drum track and a bass guitar track but then when you play them back they don't line up the bass is not playing the same pattering the kick drum in playing so what do you do to fix that. you grab your slicing tools and start slicing your tracks up and drag them to the right spot they need to be, so that bass guitar can line right up with that kick drum. But after your all done slicing and moving track and doing all that editing work your left with gaps. So right now Im going to tell you how you can fix those gaps so you have a full bare of audio and your not let with any gaps in your track because gaps can cause pops and cracks and all kicks off sounds you don't want in your mix So hears how to fix it

Highlight the whole track then go up to where it say's bounce and click that and your audio track will transform into one whole audio track you don't have to wast all that time pasting but remember you have to edit first and fix everything in the edit and then audio bounce it.

Hope this help you for more information on recording audio and mixing please email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can have a great day

EQ Acoustic Guitar

Low End 80 Hz
Place a steep high - pass filter at around 80 - 100 Hz to leave the low end for the bass guitar and the kick drum. If the Acoustic Guitar is played strumming as a rythm guitar the high pass filter is often increased up to about 200 Hz to make it sit better in the mix.
If boominess is troubling your recording you can also use an extra bell curve with a narrow to medium Q and turn down (Cut) the gain until the boom is gone.

Bottom 80 - 100 Hz
If the acoustic guitar has a prominent role in a sparse mix ( like with fingerpicking for instance ) and the sound is too thin you can put some bottom back into it by very slightly boosting between 80 and 100 Hz. If the guitar has to much boom in the low end you can take away the boom by cutting at around 100 Hz. If the acoustic guitar is strummed this frequency range is often taken away by a high pass filter at around 160 - 200 Hz to kill the low end noise of the strumming and to leave the low end for the kick and the bass.

Body 200 - 250 Hz
If the acoustic guitar is thin and without body you can boost slightly between 200 and 250 Hz with a medium bandwidth (Q). This is often combined with a cut at around 100 Hz with a narrow to medium bandwidth bell curve EQ or a high pass filter up to about 200 Hz to give the kick and bass more space

Metallic 500 - 800 Hz
If the guitar has too much of a metallic quality you can take away some of the sharpness or shrillness by cutting between 500 and 800 Hz with a medium to narrow Q. This is used very often to get a better quality acoustic guitar sound.

Clarity 2 - 2,5 kHz
Boost only a couple of dB with a wide bandwidth between 2 and 2.5 kHz to give the Acoustic Guitar a bit more clarity and presence in the mix.

Air 4500 Hz
If you want to give the Acoustic Guitar some Air you can use a shelving EQ at 4500 Hz and boost 3 to 6 dB.

Adding Reverb To Your Mix

Adding reverb to your mix is one of your thing's that can add depth and space to your mix, not I'm one of those guys that hates reverb because I just don't like using it I mean I don't have anything agents it the reason why I don't really like it is because it's so easy to mess up your mix and then it's hard to get it back, so that's why you want to be very careful with when you apply reverb to your mix. But hears a trick applying reverb with out messing up your mix and making it sound great. When you first start out only add a little bit just a tiny bit then play the whole song but play all the instruments together but play the song back in the chorus when all the instruments are in including the vocals, after that if there still is not a change go back to that reverb plugin and add more. Its a great way to control your reverb so that you don't do it in one try, because doing it in one try its very easy to mess up and not get it  right so just add a little bit and if you need to adjust go back and you always can.

Tomorrow I'm going to be talking about delay so make sure you come back to the site tomorrow so read about that delay is a great affect to use on vocals, all get into more about it tomorrow.

Recording Vocals

Hey everyone today I want to talk to you about when you record your vocals, not when you recording your vocals are you standing in the right spot in front of the microphone because if your standing to far away then the microphone wont pick up your vocal that well, If your standing to close then your vocal track is going to sound all bad and your going to hear unwanted breaths and maybe some pops and some blows and some air on the track when your all done recording, so make sure you find a good spot where your going to get a good vocal sound and know feedback.

The next thing I want to talk to you about is when your recording your vocal and when your up there at the mic and your singing and you hear your self in the headphone's but you sound kind of dry. Hears a great tip to fix that and its so easy and so fast all you have to do is grab and reverb and apply a little reverb to that track and then your singer wont sound so dry when she or he is singing into that microphone, because you want your singer to fell conferable so apply reverb that will help a lot, those are some tips I can give you to help you out with vocal recording
If you have any other question about audio mixing or recording just follow my email at the top or bottom of this page and All try and answer anything you have to ask
See you guys on the next post

EQ Cutting

One of the biggest mistakes I see music producers doing when they get to the mixing stage of there song is they boost there EQ instead of cutting. Hear is the number one rule is music producing when using EQ the number one rule is its better to CUT then BOOST the reason why is because tack a snare drum for some reason and then you grab a EQ through it on that snare drum track let's say you add a high shelving EQ to that snare drum track and you set it to about 200 Hz and the 6 dB when you play it back what are you going to hear that's right your snare drum is going to be popping through that mixing so loud that your not going to be able to hear any of the other instruments that's why on like a acoustic guitar we cut around 200 Hz and then we through it a 3 dB and then that lets the kick drum and the bass guitar to come through the mix better so you see what I'm trying to talk about hear is that every instrument has its own place in the mix and you need to sweep around in the EQ graft to find that place where it need to sit in your mix. So remember when using EQ it's better to cut then boost and all so tack your time listen well and your mix will come together a whole lot better trust me

New Studio

Hey everyone sorry I have not posted for a while the reason why is because I just moved which means I have a new studio so it Tool me a while to set up, with all the gear. So today I want to talk about what are some things you should look out for if your moving into a new house and you have to move your studio. So hears one thing you should look out for is hard floors now what do I mean by that I mean like hardwood floor's tile all that stuff, hear's another thing you should look out for cramped spaces. So if you move to a new studio just make sure you pick a room with a good sound and a good room for a good set up.

Less Gear

Hey everyone today I want to talk about something really importing that I've been telling telling musicians for years and that's you don't need lots and lots of gear to make the best sounding mix that you can. I have made songs with a audio interface that only had one input a GXL 2200 condenser microphone and use cubase 7 that I got on Amazon for free that came with my audio interface and the microphone was about 59 dollars so what I'm trying to tell you is that before you go out and spend all this money think first because you don't need to spend all this money and buy all this cool gear when you can go out and by a one input audio interface that sounds great trust me on that.
I mean I have had people come up to me and said Ryan I just bought all this new gear so now I have more gear then you and you know what my answer is to that ok you don't need to cause your just wasting money and your spending more time trying to find out what you need in your studio that creation music

Mix Templates

Hey everyone today I want to talk about mix templates and how to set one up and how to use one, so today I'm going to walk you through my work flow and tell you about how I set up my mix template and then maybe that will give you guys some ideas. So first thing I like to do when setting up a mix template is set up a master fader now for those of you who don't know what a master fader is it's a fader that all your sound passes through into the mixer. After I set up the master fader I like to start setting up all my tracks for my drums now for my songs I always put each drum on It's own channel so I make a kick track a snare track and so on, after I'm all done with that I like to make my guitar tracks bass tracks and then vocal tracks and then If I'm going to use any effects I make tracks for those. Next thing I like to do Is I always like to make a delay track and the reason why I like to is because I like to send my vocal track through a delay and then I like to add a reverb to that track also just so it stands up in the mix a little bit better.

Next thing I like to do is put a compressor on the master fader and put a reverb so this is what I want you to start to think about is when your sitting down at your computer starting to set up your mixing template think about it as a mixing mixing board your sitting at and treat it like that because if you think of it that way your going to save a lot more time on make music then playing around have fun make some great music and remember to think like a producer cause sometimes thats what you have to do to make music.

One Of The Things I Learned About Audio

Hey everyone today i want to talk to you about one of the thing I learned about audio when your recording and this is one of the things most music producers seem to do is they record through there plugins. Now let me tell you thats one of the worst thing's you can do and the reason why is because lets say a singer is coming into the studio and she cant hear her vocal on the microphone through her headphone because it sounds to dry so you add a reverb plugin onto that track then you press record and you record that track after your done recording that track you cant get ride of the reverb because you already recorded it onto that track.
So this is why wait for mixing day to add all your plugins and set your faders and do everything cause in the end your be able to create a much better sounding mix

Hope this helped you for more information on audio recording and mixing keep coming back to my site because I always try to post a new post everyday for you guys

Always if you would like some of my best mixing hacks please email me and I would be more then happy to send them to you.

Filling In A Empty Mix

Hey everyone today I want to talk about filling in your mix, you know how sometimes your mix just seem like a needs something El's there like it need another instrument just something to fill it in in the back round well I have a great way you can do that. A great instrument to use for something like this to fill in the background and all those spaces where you just fell like you need something there instead of going for another guitar part because that will over kill your mix bus and I've talked about head room on the blog before so a guitar part is not the way to go. So a great instrument to pick would be a, Tambourine if you just hold that up to the microphone you are using to record and start shaking that to the song and get a good rhythm going then its a great way to fill in your mix. So next time your mix sound dual empty and you just fell like your missing something and your just looking for the right instrument to put in there, don't go for a guitar part it will just crowed your mix bus don't go for a piano part all those instruments will just crowed up your mix bus and that make your song start to clip. So instead go for a tambourine great instrument and it will fill that spot your looking for after your done recording it play your song back mute the tambourine and then UN mute it and you should hear a different in your mix.

If you would like some of my best mixing information please email me, and I would be more then happy to send it to you have a great day

Bite Rate And Sample Rate

Hey everyone today I want to talk to you about the bite rate and the sample rate on your DAW let's start with the bite rate setting your better rate to 16 will not give you as much head room as you want it mean that more audio is going to be coming into your DAW so what this means is the higher the bite rate you go the more head room your going to have and the better sound your going to have to so a good bite rate to use is at like 24 bite that will give you enough headroom in your mix

So your sample rate a good sample rate to set your DAW to is 441

Why Don't Use Presets On Plugins

Hey everyone today i want to talk to you about why you should not ever use your presets on your plugins. I'm going to give you a few reasons why and then you'll understand why it's the worst thing you can do

Lets start with EQ presets

EQ presets can be one of the worst thing's in audio production because when you click on one of the presets your EQ changes and you say to your self oh so that's what a vocal EQ looks like. But the truth is how can you know if you can really trust that EQ setting because it can be covering up some of your other audio tracks that you want to be standing out in the mix

Number 2

Tack a vocal track and lets say you put a EQ on it and then you click on a preset now how is that preset going to know what your vocal sounds like hows is it going to know what microphone i used, how is it going to know what pre amp i used, how I used the microphone, what angle i used it in, there are so many reason why so what good is this preset if this preset dose not know anything about what i did to my song I hope you understand where I'm going with this

If you want more information on this I can send you my best information. If you email me my email is always on this site so shoot me a message and i will send you my best information just tell me what you want to learn and i will message you back when I can

Have a good day

Things To Watch Out For With Your Home Studio

Hey everyone today I want to talk to you about how to set up your Home Recording Studio

1*

The bigger the room the better you want to avoid cramped spaces.

Big Rooms Means

* More space for musicians,
* More space for your ever glowing collection of gear and instruments

Not to mention...They sound better
More on that topic latter

While many beginners might prefer a smaller room
Be smart and go for the bigger one

2* Noise

In everyday life, you forget how much noise is actually around you. But once you hear it through a microphone, all that Noise is magnified 100x.

* Cars
* Neighbors
* Plumbing
* Birds
* Crickets
* Wind
* Rain

All these things are common noises that can easily ruin your records

So pay close attention to witch room are the worst noise

Choose the room that's the quietest that's where your going to get your best recordings and your best mix

You really want a room where you can make all the noise that you want to make, at anytime of the day you want. But since very few rooms are like that

Some degree soundproofing maybe a required in order to create a useable workspace for yourself. And so...

3* Poor Flooring

For your recording room, such as Concrete Tile or Hardwood Floors I would say stay away from because your going to have sound bouncing all over with Concrete Tile and Hardwood Floors so stay away from hard floorings

There's always going to be a problem in a home recording studio that you cant fix your going to have to work around These things and learn how to work with them to get a great sounding mix.
Hope these tips helped you go out and make good music

Open The Mix

Hey everyone are your mixes sometimes cultured up with to much stuff and its not open enough well hear are some tips to opening up that mix letting it breath letting air flow through it because there are musicians out there who are just through ing in all these guitars sound effects keyboard riffs and it just crowds up your mix. So hears a few ways to make your mix sound more open first way drop the bottom end now what do i mean when i say drop the bottom end i mean tack the bass out but just for a few and then bring it back in so lets say your coming out of a chorus into a verse chop the bass track up with the slicing tool that comes with your DAW and slice where you need to next mute that area the play it back your song should sound a little more open but remember your only dropping the bottom out, but that is one way to make your mix more open.

Number 2 muting other instruments in your mix i think I talked about this one time on the blog but i will repeat it again so lets say you have all your drum track all your guitars recording all your keyboards recording all your vocals recorded and all your bass tracks recording, so you have everything recorded but your mix sound muffle hears one trick that will open up your mix so lets say you have 2 lead guitar tracks a bass guitar your drums and a organ keyboard and vocals
hears a good trick mute the guitars in some point of the song where ever you want it could be on the verse that just came out of the chorus and then once you get to the next verse the guitars come back in. So by muting those guitars think about it the only instruments your going to have left are the drums the bass guitar the organ and the vocals think about how open your mix will be because guitars are that number one instrument that tacks up so much head room in our mix that sometimes we just need to say ok you know what i need to get ride of some of these guitars because there just over powering my mix and not giving me enough head room to mix now.

I hope these tips will help your mixes come together a lot more simple please contact me for any more information you may want on recording mixing and editing

Switching From Cubase To Pro Tools

Hey everyone so next week I'm going to be switching my software over to pro tools and let me tell you a few reasons why one I'm not happy how I'm so limited in cu base i don't have all the plug ins i need and that i would like to have now making good music is not all about having good plug ins i mean you can make a great track album single with just a few plug ins like 6 or 7 but I'm switching because i needed something that is going to give me the power that i need because right now I'm at the level now where i need a better software and pro tools is the number one software that people are using these days. So i did a bunch of research on it learn a bunch of stuff and i found out man i should get this software it called me 200 dollars and i cant wait to get it hears another reason why I'm switch is because i found myself fooling around with the program like trying to fig er it out then creation music so this is why pro tools is going to help me stay focused and create music instead of fooling around.

So if you are ever un happy with your software don't just change it because you don't like it i mean i loved cubase i stop and think for a mint. Because you could all ready have everything on that software that you need you just don't know how to use it, so what do you need to do then just do some research and sooner or latter you will find the answer wait until you cant find the answer to anything call people and see what they say and if they say you cant do that in cubase you cant do that in reason you cant do that in logic. So if they say you cant do that to all your answer and there know other way then you could start to think about changing. but don't just change because you want to change your software change because you need to.  If your already getting good music then thats good stick to that software you have you don't need to change anything but remember only change because you need to.

Bass Guitar Mixing

Hey everyone I have another great tip for you guys today and it's on bass guitar after your all done recording your bass guitar do you ever get pops or sounds in there you just want to get ride of. Well a great way to get ride of those unwanted noises is to use a dual filter a dual filter cleans up a lot of the unwanted noises that the bass makes and the noises you don't want to hear. So next time your recording your bass line for your EP single or album and if you get sounds in there when you play it back if your Daw has a dual filter grab it and put it on that bass track play around with it and you should get that bass sound your looking for nice and deep clean and up in your face
Hope this tip helped you there more to come

Never EQ In Solo

So today I want to talk to you about why you should never EQ in solo I know someone who EQ all of his tracks in solo like he soloed one track EQ it and then solo the next track and EQ it that is one of the worst things you can do and let me tell you why the reason why is because if you EQ in solo you could be covering up other instruments like you could be covering up vocals that you want to stand out and sit ontop of your mix you could be covering up a acoustic guitar or a electric guitar there's so many things that you could be covering up and then when you play it back your whole song will sound so muffled and off so that one reason why you should not EQ in solo
Another reason why is because you have to hear the other instrument to see where there going to fit into the mix like you could move this one EQ band and then you decide hey that sounds good there I like that it really helps my vocal pop through the mix better but if you do this in solo then like I said before man I just sent that vocal track so fare back behind the mix I can't even hear it so remember please don't do your EQ in solo I mean it might make one instrument track sound good but if your recording a whole song with like piano guitar drums bass vocals and all that stuff then you need to have it all in playing when you EQ it will help your mix a lot better trust me

2 Mistakes People Do With EQ

The very first mistake people do when using EQ and this mistake is one you should never do you should just forget about it just pretend there not even there people tend to trust there presets that come with there EQ. The reason why presets are the worst thing is tack a vocal track track for instant's if you use a preset on your vocal track how dose that preset that you used on your vocal track know what your vocalist sounds like, how do they know what microphone i used, how do they know what pre amp i used, how do they know how i used that microphone and what angle i had it at, what the singer had to drink that morning. All those things you need to think about if your going to use a EQ preset
So what good is this preset that i used on this EQ if the whole point of EQ is to revel the best part of a track.

So a preset on a EQ i hate to say but its pointless because its not going to help you in the real world, because it has know idea what your audio sounds like trust me just stay away from presets please pretend there not even there they wont help you.

So remember this with EQ you have to decide on your EQ curves you cant let the preset Decide for you, you have to decide 100% of the time

Number 2 of the worst EQ mistake you can do in a home recording studio is boost EQ rather then cutting, so lets say you have a guitar in your mix that you cant hear very well so what do we tend to do we go right for a EQ and we boost until we can hear that guitar and its popping through the mix and then we say hey yeah there's that guitar all i needed to do is grab a EQ and boost it a little and know its popping through the mix. But let me tell you something everyone who is doing that out there please stop because let me tell you what your doing the only thing your doing is adding more volume to your mix and to that track and your adding more gain to that track also. So this is why its better to cut EQ then to Boost because then your left with head room, and all get into head room in a mint. So when you cant hear one of the instruments in your mix don't go for another EQ and boost that EQ until you can hear that instrument come through the mix better hears something els you can do to make your mix sound a lot better is look around your mix at all your track and cut something els like lets say this shaker is covering up the guitar solo go into the shaker track on the EQ and cut a little of it out turn that down don't turn the guitar solo up cause remember boosting your EQ will just make your track clip and you will start to hear popping and fuzz and all kinds of noises you don't want to hear and then your left with know head room.
Now lets talk about head room what is head room, head room is where the meeter starts and where it ends at the top so tack a craw space in your house when you go into the craw space you cant stand up right now if you try to stand up your out of head room because your going to hit your head so if the meeter hits the very top of the track and you start to see the color yellow of red or organ then you know your single is starting to clip some audio interfaces will tell you when your single is starting to clip.

I hope this information helped you understand how to use EQ the right way if you have any other question please let me know by emailing me by email is at the top thank you have a great day

Mixing Secrets For EQ

Hey everyone today I though i would give you some great information on mixing your instruments using EQ, like where to place them in your mix and where to have them sit so you will be able to hear each and every instrument, and have your song come together the way you want it to when you tack it out to share with the world or on the internet so I'm going to give you some great stuff today so if your reading this make sure you really stay focused on everything I'm telling you so your mix when come together and sound better, all start with guitars

* Acoustic guitar

Placing a HIGH PASS FILTER at around 80 - 100 Hz to leave the low end for the bass guitar and the kick drum. If the acoustic guitar is played strumming as a rythm guitar the high pass filter is often increased up to about 200 Hz to make it sit better in the mix.

If the acoustic guitar has a prominent role in a spare mix ( Like with fingerpicking for instance and the sound is to thin you can put some bottom back into it by very slightly boosting between 80 and 100 Hz. If the guitar has tow much boom in the low end you can tack away the boom by cutting at around 100 Hz. If the acoustic guitar is strummed this frequency range is often taken away by a high pass filter at around 160 - 200 Hz. To kill the low end noise of the strumming and to leave the low end for the kick drum and the bass guitar.

If the acoustic guitar is thin and with out body you can boost slightly between 200 - 250 Hz with a medium bandwidth (Q) this is often combined with a cut around 100 Hz with a narrow to medium bandwidth bell curve EQ or a high pass filter up to about 200 Hz to give the kick drum and bass guitar more space

If you have any other questions about acoustic guitar please let me know by emailing me also there is more information on acoustic guitar if you would like me to send you the rest of the information also please email me so i can do that. thank you

Muting The Instruments

Hey everyone today i have a great tip for you on opening up your mix and this is something you can do if you fell your mix is to muffled and all the instrument's fell like there not in your face to you, so hear a few tips to help you get wider mixes. First one lets say your coming out of a chorus of your song and you cant hear the harmonies to your song hears a great way to bring it forward mute a few guitar after the chorus and just leave the piano, vocals, drums, & bass, in the song and mute the guitar for just a few seconds and then as the chorus is coming up bring them back in. Because hears the thing guys you have to think of it this way just by muting some instruments could make your whole song sound amazing because once you mute then you'll be like wow listen to those harmonies those where all ready there, there was just something covering them up so by muting some instruments to make it more open can really bring your song to the next level.

Another way you can make your some fell a lot more open is by using volume automation
like when you get to a part in the song where you fell you just don't want to hear that instrument then bring your volume automation to zero and then build as your going into the chorus and then as your going into the verses you can bring the volume down.

So you have to remember that there are a whole bunch of ways you can do this to help your mix fell more open and come together sometimes its all ready in your mix and you just have to find it or sometimes you need to play around and think like a producer and say maybe i should try this and see if this works cause if it dose then it will really help my mix come together a lot faster smoother and Easter
So as your sitting in your studio or where ever you do your music think like a producer and don't be afraid to try things because sometimes the stuff you try really dose help.
I will give you a tip that i do when i fell i want to get rid of something in my mix i just mute it and then play it back to see if it sounds good i don't get ride of it yet because I don't know if it is going to sound good or not but if i cant decide then i leave it and come back to it latter so when your in the studio think like a producer don't think to hard Theo and remember you don't need the biggest and the best equipment in the world to make great music you could just have a one input audio interface and you can still make great music on that

For a year i made great music on a one input audio interface i mean you don't need a lot of plugins just stick to the basics and you can make great music go out there and do it.

Opening Up Your Mix

Hey everyone today i want to talk about opening up your mix all of us want mixes that sound wide and opening and you can hear every instrument,  so I'm going to teach you a great way to open your mix and it is supper easy and it's like the oldest trick in the book because its that easy.
So first thing i want to tell you is something about guitars in your mix, guitars are that number one instrument that just fills up our mixes really easy and over powers all the other instruments so to make a mix sound more open is to mute some of those guitars. So lets say your coming out of a chorus into a verse and you want the verse to sound more open and less powerful. So hears an idea for you instead of having a strumming acoustic guitar over powering the mix go for a picking acoustic guitar in the verse and then the drums still there and the bass guitar and then maybe have like a organ in the back round to fill up the low end and also have the vocals after the verse is done and your going back lets say a chorus then you can bring the strumming acoustic guitar back in. Now I'm not saying that you cant have a strumming acoustic guitar through your whole song i have many songs where i did strumming acoustic guitars, what I'm saying is you just need to know how to control them and not let it over power your mix by learning how to control all your instruments you will be able to have a great mix

Why Don't Use Digital Distortion

Hey everyone I have a great tip for you guys today I know I have been telling you guys to edit your tracks before you start mixing right and still keep that up but I'm going to give you a tip today that is going to save you a bunch of time on editing your tracks this really counts for guitars and bass but other instruments to like what ever instruments you can use distortion on.
So hears what you don't want to do is don't use digital distortion that comes with your DAW because it causes way to many HARMONICS in your DAW, and now some of you might be asking me what are harmonics harmonics are sound wave that are caused when you like pluck a guitar string so if you have distortion on your guitar it's going to be a bigger sound wave but if you don't use distortion then it's going to be a littler wave form now I'm not saying to stop using distortion I mean I'm a huge fan of it and I still use it in my songs all the time but just try not to use it in your DAW use a distortion pedal or a DI Box and hook that to your interface and then you will be set I hope this tip helped you and will save you some time from editing and more time to finish your song and making more music enjoy

Background Vocal Tip

Hey everyone i got a tip for you on back round vocals back round vocals can be a little tricky because you also don't want to over power the lead vocal so you cant hear it you want to hear back of the vocal together at the same time so hears a great trick you can use and its supper easy and its fast and it helps. On your back round vocal track add a EQ and put a low pass filter in around 100 Hz is a good starting point then play the song and start adjusting the EQ when you start to hear the back round vocals and the lead vocal start to sit better in the mix then you know you did a good thing

If you want more information on mixing you have my email at the top of the page

And also if you would like some of my best mixing information on getting great sounding tracks just email me and ask me can you send me your best mixing information

Vocal compression

Hears a great tip for you all that cant get your vocals where you want them like do your vocals sound like there really fare back in your mix to where you cant even hear them that well.
Well i have a tip for you guys that will fix that and its supper easy to do and fast all you do is grab a compression and compress your vocal track next thing you do is copy that plug in and drag it under neath the other compression so stacking tow compression is a great way to bring your vocals out and help it sit better and sit on top of your mix because i know that is what we want we want vocals that sit on top of our mix

Hope this helped if you have any other questions you know how to reach me

Edit Kick Drum With Bass Guitar

The most importing thing well what I should really say is one of the most importing things is in music when your editing your song is to make sure your kick drum lines up with your bass guitar so hears a good way you can do that start by zooming in on your tracks and see where the bass guitar dose not line up with the kick drum then tack your slicing tool every daw comes with one of these and slice your bass guitar where it dose not line up and drag it to where the kick drum lines up this is one of the most importing things you want to do cause if your bass guitar and kick drum sound off your whole song will to

How To Free Up Head Room

Hear are some of my best mixing answers for you guys on how to help your mixes come together a whole lot more easy and faster the first one is. Giving your mix head room and what do i mean by head room letting your mix breath making sure you can hear every instrument that you record. Because buy not letting your mix breath and have air its going to sound all muddy and flat and just sound bad that's not what we want right we want mixes that we can hear every instrument and that are going to blow us away we want our friend's to put on those headphone and be like wow this song is awesome i wish i could make music like this. So hears some tips you can do to give your mix more headroom turn down your fade rs in your mix by turning down your fade rs in your mix its not going to crowed up your mix buss and have your mix breath a lot better so there's one way you can give your mix headroom number 2. turn down your audio interface when you record stuff some of you guys are recording stuff to loud and what that's doing is crowding up your mix bus also and making your tracks sound all bad so keep your audio interface down. Another one is using a high pass filter on every single one of your tracks now i talked about this before on the blog about using a high pass filter on all your tracks but not your kick drum and your bass guitar leave those black. Buy add a high pass filter to all your tracks besides your kick drum and your bass guitar your kick drum and bass guitar are going to pop through the mix even more  and that's what you want to hear. Let me talk about guitars for a bit we all want our guitars in our mix to pop and punch through our mix but we just don't know how to get there well hears some good tips that will help number one using a high pass filter starting at 100Hz if 100Hz is not enough bring it up to 200Hz the highest you should go is about 400Hz for an acoustic guitar know higher then that that will tack out a lot of the low end and you will be able to hear a lot more of your instruments in your mix. Because guitar load up so much in our mix that there sometimes hard to control so that's why using a high pass filter and compression and all those plug ins to keep them under control should help. Hears another good tip for you if you record in stereo that needs to end because that's another way to fill up your mix but and to build up head room in your room make sure your starting to record in mono tracks so that you can mix a lot easy er

I hope these tips and tricks helped you if you have any other questions for you about mixing and audio please email me my email is at the top of the page thank you and go out and make some great music and use these tips and tracks i've been teaching you enjoy guys.

Using Mono Tracks

Hey everyone today I want to talk to you use guys using mono tracks in your mix instead of stereo tracks the resaon you should not use stereo tracks is because it will crowed your mix buss and it will be a lot harder to mix your music. So this is why you need mono tracks to record

Tomorrow I'm going to be posting some stuff about EQ And if you have any other questions about anything please fell free to ask thank you

Using EQ For an Acoustic Guitar

If you are not doing this when you are using EQ on your acoustic guitar you need to start doing it now. Using a high pass filter is one of the most importing things you can do in your mix to clean up your acoustic guitar. Set your gain on your EQ to about 200 Hz then set your EQ to about 3 dB or 6 dB adding a high pass filter at 200 Hz on a acoustic guitar will clean up a lot of the low end and alow the kick drum
And the bass guitar to pop through the mix a lot more.
Hope this Tip helped you guys with your music and go out this week and record some good music.

There will be know posts next week because I will be away at a youth retreat
So all be posting when I get back but make sure you keep making good music

Editing Tracks

Editing your tracks can be one of the most importing things you can do as a producer and this is one thing most people skip in your mixing work flow. If you don't edit your tracks people think you can just get ride of it with EQ but hear one thing you need to know sometimes you can't. And when you can't get ride of it with EQ you just wasted all your time trying to. The reason people don't want to edit is because they think it tacks to long I had a friend who was working on one of his songs and he played me the song one day and some things stood out in the song that did not sound good to me so I said after the song was over can I give you some tips and he said sure so I said there are some thing in there that don't sound good like breaths and all kinds of stuff are you planing on tacking those out and he said I'm tried to and I asked him did you edit the song and I know you guys know what he said yup he did not edit anything
He jumped right into mixing and I was thinking he could just tack it out with EQ so there a good point for you guys make sure you edit before you jump into mixing it will make your mix come together much Easyer and it will sound a whole lot better and you won't be struggling with trying to tack things out that don't belong there
I know I've talked about editing hear on the blog before but it's one of the most importing thing you can do. Go out and make some good music

Why You Should Not Use Guitar Sounds In Your Daw

Hear is a reason why you should not use guitar sound in your Daw the reason why is because your Daw come with unlimited sounds and then you could spend all day trying to chooses what sound you want to use for your song and then that's just wasting time when you could be recording your tracks or mixing your song out editing your song it's just a way to wasted time so the best way to chooses sounds for your song is don't pick your sound after you started tracking pick all your sounds for your song before you started tracking because then you'll save a lot more time moving onto other things in your song

Hope this tip helps you try it out and just me it will save you a whole bunch of time if you choose your sounds before you start recording

3 Of My Best Mixing Tricks

Today I want to share with you some of my best mixing tricks that I use in all of my song and they always always help my mixes come together. The first one is tacking an EQ any EQ will work 5 band EQ 4 band EQ any EQ, and add a high pass filter to it and tack out 100 Hz that's a good starting point that's going to help clean up your mix a little more and help bring your instruments forwarded and you'll be able to hear what was not there before. After you apply that high pass filter you want to apply that high pass filter to all of your tracks exspeted your kick drum, and your bass guitar, once you apply that to all your tracks, your kick drum and your bass guitar are going to stand out in your mix a lot more and that's what you want. My next best mixing trick is getting ride of the 400 Hz rage so what your going to do is grab
Another EQ again this can be any EQ
and roll of 400 Hz and then - 3dB for the gain and apply that same cut of EQ to all of your tracks and I mean all of them
Once you apply that cut of EQ your mix should sound cleaner and you'll be able to hear instruments that where not there before.
My next best mixing trick is to stack
Vocal compression and what that mean I stack 2 compressor and add one to your vocal track and then add the other one underneeth and that should bring your vocal forwarded in your mix a lot more
You won't be fight your mix to bring your vocal forwarded because that's what where all looking for is to have our vocals sit ontop of your mix

I hope there mixing tips helped you and if you have any other questions please
Fell free to email me at anytime
Thank you have a great day

Beyond Those Gates

So last week I finished tracking all my tracks for my new song and today I started mixing so today I added a high pass filter to all of my tracks but not the kick drum and the bass guitar and I panned my tracks and I set all the faders so everything is at the right level and so fare it is coming along

Reverse Cymbal trick

Hey everyone today I want to give you a cool awesome trick that can make your mixese sound a little more full and in your face more and this trick you can apply it going into a verse coming out of a verse or going into a chorus our coming out of a chorus and it can apply to the brigh in your song to. So what this trick is called is a REVERSE CYMBAL SWELL. so hears what you do you tack a cymbal part from your song and you apply it to another track after you apply it to another track your going to highlight it and reverse the sound wave next thing your going to do is tack a reverb and add it to that track that you just added that cymbal to and what your going to do is blast it in reverb but becareful how much you put on there so make sure you listen carefully and add the right amont till it sounds good and the way you want it to sound.

I hope this cool effected helps you and let me know what you think for more information on recorded please email me at my email at the top of the page and all get back to you as soon as I can have a great day

Telephone Vocal Effect

Hey everyone I want to give you guys a cool idea for your vocals you can do and it's called the Telephone effect, and you can use it on the chorus of your song or on the bright or you can use it where ever you want in the song. And hears how it works grab an EQ What ever EQ comes with your DAW and what you want to do is make a low pass filter and a high pass filter and then you want to boost the high mids a little and then you get that effect and it's called the telephone effect so enjoy this cool effect use it on your vocals and let me know what you think and one more tip for you guys you might not want to use it that much through out your song because it can cram up your mix and make it sound to muffle just find spots you can use it enjoy.

Edit Your Tracks

Hello everyone I'm going to tell you one of the most importing things music producers forget to do and its something that every music producer should be doing but they think they can skip this but they cant and its something called editing. Now some people think they can tack the stuff out in there song that they don't want with plug ins not true. You need to edit your tracks
I mean you could mix and mix and add as many plug ins as you want but when it comes time to start the mix down and you take that CD out of your DAW your going to hear all those pops cracks noises you don't want in there. So remember to tack your time edit your tacks and listen carefully because there will be noises in your song your going to want to tack out

How To Make Your Mix Sound More Full

Hey guys today i want to talk about how you can make your mix sound more full, like do you ever get to that point where your stuck and at the bottom of your mix just dose not sound right and it just sounds like it could be more full in the back round well i have some ideas for you to change that and make your mix sound good and full and know more empty spaces. Hears some ideas add some other instruments in the back round like shakers tambourines bells all that kind of stuff hold those instruments up to what ever microphone you are using at that point and play them along with your song and then set your faders on your mixer and see where they fit into your mix of your song. make sure when you hold your instrument up to the microphone make sure its not to close. So before you start recording make sure you find the right rage before you start recording and make sure you faders on your mixer are not to high because then when you play the track back its going to sound all muffle and that's one thing you don't want. Once your done recording those instruments pull up the faders and listen and find where they fit into the mix of your song. Recording and mixing is all about balancing your tracks and seeing where everything fits in

Vocal Editing

Hey guys today i want to talk to you about editing your vocals where there are breaths you tack out and where there are unwanted noises you just don't want to hear in there. So lets say you have this vocal track that you just record and then you played it back and there's some breaths in there that you would just love to get ride off but your new to editing and recording. Well this is where i can help you and tell you what you need to do. What you want to do is zoom in on your track and then press play, and listen to where ever you hear a noises you don't like then when you hear it, the next step is to find out where that noise is in the track, once you found it you want to tack your slicing tool ever Daw comes with one Daw mean your recording software its just another name for it so once you have your slicing tool and you found where the part is in your song you want to tack out tack your slicing tool and slice in front of the part you want to tack out and in the back of the part you want to tack out and then every Daw comes with a mute tool so find your mute tool and once you found it tack it and clink on that part in the middle and that will mute the part you don't want. Another way you can get ride of unwanted noises in your vocal tracks is by doing the same thing by slicing but you don't mute it this time you just delete it but if your going to go with that way you want to make sure you put your tack back to where it was because sometimes when your doing this is your Daw is on the wrong setting then your track can jump to another part of the song it is possible to put it back but i don't know what kind of Daw you guys use so i cant tell you how to do it. Now if your a cubase user like me then i can teach you all kinds of stuff and tell you how to do it but Im not sure what Daw you use so i cant. So just remember slicing your vocals tracks and getting rid of unwanted noises can make your vocals sound more clean and a lot more upfront in your mix

I hope this information help you if you have any questions about anything please email me of leave me a comment asking me or send me a message enjoy

Quick Update

Hey guys today i have a quick update for you i just want to tell you guys that i am all done with my song called [ You are my God ] and i just want to tell you a little about it and how it all came together. So i was sitting up in my room one day playing my guitar and i started playing these chords, and then i just started humming to them and i just thought to myself you know what i could make a song out of these chords. So after i was all done with the chords to the chorus i started working on the verses to the song, now i new the verses where going to be very hard to do because i had know clue what i wanted this song to sound like i had know clue what the vision was. until i thought to myself man i know i would like to do something i never done before so i started playing like this blues thing and i was like man that really goes well with the chorus.
After i was all done writing out all the music it was time to start writing the lyrics now the lyrics where not as hard as the music the music i would say took me like 4 days to write, but the lyrics took me like 2 days to write them. So once i got done with all the music and all the lyrics i started tracking drums to the song and tracking guitar, bass guitar and piano and vocals tracking took a week to do. Once all the tracking was done i started editing editing took along time i would say it took like 2 weeks to do, but once the editing was all done i could hear and see that the song was really coming together. So then after editing i started mixing a few days after editing and mixing was the biggest this to do cause it took like 3 weeks to do really long time and a lot of hours but in the end it was all worth it

If you would like to download the song go to soundcloud .com and typ in Ryan Hudak and look for the album cover that saids Rise Up

Using EQ

So today i was working on my new song i started mixing today and i started out on mixing my acoustic guitar track and for some reason it did not sound the way i wanted it to. But then i found out i put a dual filter on it and it made the guitar sound just all dual and flat and i wanted my guitars to pop and be more full so what i did is i got rid of that dual filter and added an EQ and lowered the low end of it and then i boosted the high end a little and then i got rid of some of the mid and i played it back and it sounded great just the way i wanted it to sound.
So you gonna think of it this way EQ is a very powerful took when you mixing its your most powerful tool in your whole recording software if you don't use EQ your not getting anywhere with your mixing and if you don't know how to use EQ or you don't know what EQ is you should not be recording music, because EQ is the most importing tool for when your mixing, let me give you some tips for when your Using EQ.
Its always better to cut then to boost because if you boost all the time all your tracks are going to come out bad
So remember always cut don't boost

Better Bass Guitar

Hey everyone I'm back for another update today i want to talk to you guys on bass guitar and how you can get a much better bass sound out of your mix. There is a few option you can do to get a nice deep clean sound bass mix because i know all you bass players out there our all you musicians out there are looking for a great way to make your bass tracks sound really good. Well I'm going to tell you something i did today while i was mixing my bass track and it really helped, i used a little compression on my bass track but it still did not sound the way i wanted it to sound so then i went back into my plugins and looked around and i came across this one plugin called a
( Dual Filter ) and i tried it out and for some reason it just blow me away of how great the bass sounded after that it sounded nice and deep nice and clean and i was really happy with it. So sometime if one of your plugins dose not work and is not making your track sound the way you want it to sound play around
With some other plugin you might just be amazed of what kind of stuff you can do. I've learned over the years of recording music and playing music that in your home recording studio its always good to change things up and try new things because it might just make your music sound better then ever
so just remember there might always be something out there like a dual filter that can change the sound

So go out and try new things i hope to hear from you guys and let me know what you guys are trying cause i love to hear feedback from you guys

God bless

Titer Tracks

Today I want to talk to you guys about how to get a much titer vocal track in your recordings, with out using plugins. Hears some tricks that I fell really help and will make your vocals sound a lot titer and a lot more full. First thing you want to do is zoom into your vocal track and see if your to vocal tracks one on the bottom and one of the top line up together, if they don't hears a great trick to fix that. Find where the first sound wave starts then tack what ever slicing tool you have in your DAW every DAW has one so you don't have to worry about that, and go ahead and start slicing where ever the top vocal track dose not line up with your bottom track and then start draging the track that dose not line up, after you have done all that go ahead back and click on the tow tracks you over lapped and press the X key on your keyboard and that will
Insert a great tool that is always helpful
To use its called a crossfade and if your
New to recording and you don't know what that is it pretty much X out the unwanted noises that are in your tracks
And make your tracks sound a lot better
Great trick I hightly recumened you use crossfades where ever you can in your song.
So pretty much what I'm telling you to do is lining up your tracks is very importing
Because it will change that whole sound
Of your song and make it sound so much
Better and so much more clean and clear and then you might not have to do that much more mixing, so editing your tracks and editing stuff out that's unwanted in your song is importing please use this trick and keep coming back to my sit for more information on recording and mixing

THANK YOU

Edit Your Tracks

One of the things music producers forget to do when there first brand new to recording is they don't edit there tracks they think write after there done recording they can go write into mixing. Now let me tell you guys write now thats not true all tell you why its a huge mistake going write into mixing after recording your tracks. Because once you record your tracks and then you mix them some of the plugins you use to mix like reverb and delay once those plugins are on your track there on there for good there's know tracking them off so you need to think because you do something in your Daw. Hears another reason why mixing is bad before editing because you could mix your whole song and then you wont even know there's little parts in the song that you don't want in there until you tack in out and put it on a CD cause once you put it on a CD your going to hear all these noises that you don't want to hear in the back round trust me i've been there and it dose not sound good.
Now once your all done editing your tracks and one more thing i bet your wondering how long will it tack you to edit every single track well for me when i edit my track i record the drums one day then the next day i record bass guitar after then the next day i sit down in my studio and i edit each track and then i move on to everything els so don't do it all in one day sitting that long in front of the computer editing over and over again will not be good
So what I'm saying is tack your time editing and give your self a few days to do it it will change the sound of your tracks and make them sound a lot better and a lot more clean trust me edit your tracks and if someone tells you you don't need to edit your tracks don't listen to them because your music will just come out better and then you can prove a point to everyone so tack your time edit out all those unwanted noise first give your self a few days to do it and then you can go ahead and start mixing your tracks. And the other great thing about ending is
when its time to mix you might not have to do that much mixing because you already edited everything out of the song that you don't want in there because after editing your song will sound clean already so take what i said use it in all your songs and it will make your tracks or album just what ever your working on it will make it sound so much better.

I hope this helped you and pleas keep coming back to my site to keep learning about recording

God Bless

Never Set Your Faders Before Vocals

Hey everyone today i want to talk about setting your faders before you start to record your vocals, and setting your faders before your vocals is one of the worst thing's you can do because when we set our faders we want to get a good mix right so when we do that we bring out faders up so we can hear everything thats playing so we can hear the guitar the drums the bass everything. But then what happens is when you go to record your vocals and when you put those head phones on and you press record you cant hear your self sing because everything is to loud i mean sure you can turn everything down but then you just wasted so much time getting it to the right level you want your mix to be at. So the best thing to do before you mix anything in your song like, before you add any plugins any effects make sure your all done tracking everything first because you start to set your levels and add your plugins and effects because then in the end you'll have a great mix trust me.

Acoustic Treatment

So i got a message today from one of my friends who is getting into the recording stage of setting up his recording studio and he bought all this gear and he called me over because it was time for him to hang his acoustic treatment on the walls, but he had know clue where to put it. So he asked me is there a right spot to put acoustic panels, and i said yes. So what i was telling him is your desk that you work at needs to be centered in the middle of the room and then you need to hang your first acoustic panel where the first sound wave is going to hit the wall.
So what i did is i showed him a great trick and this trick will help for everyone so all you singer and song writers and producers out there who are making music this will help you.
Take a merre move it along the wall until you see the first cone of the speaker in the merer and then thats where your going to put your first acoustic panel on the wall, and then do the same thing for the other side of the room. It will always help your room by putting bass traps in the corners of the room behind the speakers so that bass sound dose not build up in the corners of the room. Because then when your going to be hearing in your speakers is just a muddy mess of noise its not that song you want to hear
But hanging acoustic treatment you don't need a lot of it because your not trying to kill the sound in the room you just want to control it so putting up to much acoustic treatment can be bad for your room.
And don't just put up treatment because it looks cool you have to have a reason for it i mean you may have a room that you don't need acoustic treatment you may have a room that dose not have windows it only has wall to wall carpet and thats great
If you have that stand in the middle of your room and clap your hands loud if you hear a ring you might just need like 2 or 3 acoustic panels or you might not need any because the carpet it doing all the work.

The other thing i want to talk about is acoustic treatment is not sound proofing i"v had people come up to me and asked is acoustic treatment sound proofing then answer is know the only thing acoustic treatment is doing is keep the sound from bouncing around the room. The acoustic treatment is not stoping the other sounds that are coming in from the outside of the room
So ask your working in your home recording studio
Hears tow things your going to have to deal with

Your going to have to learn your room and the way it works
And your going to have to learn how to set it up the right way so you get the best sound out of it

I hope all this information helped you all on how acoustic treatment is importing in your home recording studio and if you have any more questions on acoustic treatment please email me or questions on anything els please fell free to ask me those questions to

The Right Mix

I mean all you Musicians out there who have home recording studios your always looking for the best mix, but let me tell you write now in a home recording studio there's know such thing as the best mix because in a home recording studio there's always going to be something your going to have to face. It could be your room the way it's set up, it could be tow many windows in your room and the sound is bouncing all around in there, It could be you have your studio tucked back in a counre and thats the last place you want your studio to be. So there's a lot of reasons why you can get the right mix in your home recording studio.

Now i know you want your music to sound like the pros but the thing is the pros have a studio thats acoustic treated & sound proof and the room there in is built and made for recording in a house like the houses we live in there not acoustic treated but you can acoustic treat it your self and i do say you go out and buy some acoustic treatment for your studio because it dose help, But what i was say it our homes that we live in are not sound proof there not acoustic treated, so those are all the things your going to have to work around your going to have to learn your room and learn how to work in it. The number thing you can fix is by buying some acoustic treatment and putting it up on the wall i do say you should go out and buy some cause its helpful and it will bring down a lot of the echo

How You Should Save Your Money In Your Studio

Before you start to buy anything of any kind of equipment for your recording studio you need to set a budget on how much you want to spend on the studio. After you have your budget down you want to think witch room will I be building my recording studio in and will the equipment I buy fit in hear, and also will all my equipment fit on my desk. So there's some things you need to think about before you go out and buy all this stuff he's a good tip for all you producers out there who are just getting into the recording stage of recording your home music. Stick with buying the little equipment you don't have to go big, because big dose not always mean better so if stick with the little equipment you will be find then. I mean I've been recording and producing music for about 10 years now and I still use like a audio interface with only 2 inputs on it and it works on great.
But if your planning on recording drums
The go a little bigger make sure you buy a audio interface that has 8 inputs so that you have a input for each drum. So stick with buying little equipment before its a great way to save money unless your recording drums then that's another story
Cause people think you need to go out and buy all this great big equipment know don't listen to those people I mean I was at that point once there and I learned that if you just start small you'll be find because some of the world top producers still are using till this day the littlest Equitment to make amazing music
And the other thing is when you get to the store don't go crazy shopping like picking up the littlest things and going home and making music because that's another way to wast money stick to what I told you and you'll be find start small

So I hope this review helped you on what Equitment you should buy and how you should save money

Have a good day

Why You Don't Need A Mixer

I've had people ask me all the time do i need a mixer in my home recording studio the answer i always give people is ( Know ) and i will tell you why. People go out and they buy there huge mixers for like 100 of dollars and then they go home and they start to find out that this was a wast of money, and all tell you write now why its a wast of money to go out and buy a mixer for your home recording studio.

It tacks up so much room on your desk and then you have know place to work.
another reason why is why buy a mixer when your ( DAW ) in your recording software already has a mixer built into it .
Another reason why is cause your just going to be wasting so much money on something you don't need, when you could be saving that money on something that you could really use like a new microphone home studio could always use microphone if your recording live drums your going to have to have like 8 microphone
So there are so many reasons out there why you don't need a mixer in your home recording studio I'm not going to go over all of them with you because there's to many but before you go out and buy something think to your self and say do i really need this, and while your at the studio looking at it think about the gear you already have at home and think if you already have something
At home that could do the same job, cause then you wont have to spend more money on something you don't need
Cause buying a mixer it could be like 1200 dollars and buy not buying it you could save that 1200 dollars on something you really need
So remember there a rule in home recording studio never get the gear you don't need, because you might already have something in your home recording studio that could do the same job.
Always be thinking before you do something in the studio
