Using EQ For an Acoustic Guitar

If you are not doing this when you are using EQ on your acoustic guitar you need to start doing it now. Using a high pass filter is one of the most importing things you can do in your mix to clean up your acoustic guitar. Set your gain on your EQ to about 200 Hz then set your EQ to about 3 dB or 6 dB adding a high pass filter at 200 Hz on a acoustic guitar will clean up a lot of the low end and alow the kick drum
And the bass guitar to pop through the mix a lot more.
Hope this Tip helped you guys with your music and go out this week and record some good music.

There will be know posts next week because I will be away at a youth retreat
So all be posting when I get back but make sure you keep making good music

Editing Tracks

Editing your tracks can be one of the most importing things you can do as a producer and this is one thing most people skip in your mixing work flow. If you don't edit your tracks people think you can just get ride of it with EQ but hear one thing you need to know sometimes you can't. And when you can't get ride of it with EQ you just wasted all your time trying to. The reason people don't want to edit is because they think it tacks to long I had a friend who was working on one of his songs and he played me the song one day and some things stood out in the song that did not sound good to me so I said after the song was over can I give you some tips and he said sure so I said there are some thing in there that don't sound good like breaths and all kinds of stuff are you planing on tacking those out and he said I'm tried to and I asked him did you edit the song and I know you guys know what he said yup he did not edit anything
He jumped right into mixing and I was thinking he could just tack it out with EQ so there a good point for you guys make sure you edit before you jump into mixing it will make your mix come together much Easyer and it will sound a whole lot better and you won't be struggling with trying to tack things out that don't belong there
I know I've talked about editing hear on the blog before but it's one of the most importing thing you can do. Go out and make some good music

Why You Should Not Use Guitar Sounds In Your Daw

Hear is a reason why you should not use guitar sound in your Daw the reason why is because your Daw come with unlimited sounds and then you could spend all day trying to chooses what sound you want to use for your song and then that's just wasting time when you could be recording your tracks or mixing your song out editing your song it's just a way to wasted time so the best way to chooses sounds for your song is don't pick your sound after you started tracking pick all your sounds for your song before you started tracking because then you'll save a lot more time moving onto other things in your song

Hope this tip helps you try it out and just me it will save you a whole bunch of time if you choose your sounds before you start recording

3 Of My Best Mixing Tricks

Today I want to share with you some of my best mixing tricks that I use in all of my song and they always always help my mixes come together. The first one is tacking an EQ any EQ will work 5 band EQ 4 band EQ any EQ, and add a high pass filter to it and tack out 100 Hz that's a good starting point that's going to help clean up your mix a little more and help bring your instruments forwarded and you'll be able to hear what was not there before. After you apply that high pass filter you want to apply that high pass filter to all of your tracks exspeted your kick drum, and your bass guitar, once you apply that to all your tracks, your kick drum and your bass guitar are going to stand out in your mix a lot more and that's what you want. My next best mixing trick is getting ride of the 400 Hz rage so what your going to do is grab
Another EQ again this can be any EQ
and roll of 400 Hz and then - 3dB for the gain and apply that same cut of EQ to all of your tracks and I mean all of them
Once you apply that cut of EQ your mix should sound cleaner and you'll be able to hear instruments that where not there before.
My next best mixing trick is to stack
Vocal compression and what that mean I stack 2 compressor and add one to your vocal track and then add the other one underneeth and that should bring your vocal forwarded in your mix a lot more
You won't be fight your mix to bring your vocal forwarded because that's what where all looking for is to have our vocals sit ontop of your mix

I hope there mixing tips helped you and if you have any other questions please
Fell free to email me at anytime
Thank you have a great day
